The Oregonian: "Lufthansa Airlines (a member of the Star Alliance) will announce today that it plans to launch daily nonstop flights between its Frankfurt hub and Portland (PDX). Portland beat out Seattle and a handful of unidentified cities for the flights." Service is scheduled to start March 31, 2003 and tickets are already available via Lufthansa's web site. Addendum: And the new federal Transportation Safety Administration took over control of security at PDX October 8 and completed the transition Tuesday.
