I caught up with a few friends one night after work recently. Our conversation meandered all over as it often does, but it kept coming back to one thing all four of us have in common at the moment: each of us is looking for a new house and a shorter commute. No one I know enjoys commuting. Now Deutsche Welle is reporting, "German researchers have concluded that people caught in traffic jams are three times more likely to suffer a heart attack an hour later than those who aren't tied up on the road."
Yikes. Now that sounds like an endorsement for alternative commuting, exept that the article continues on: "They concluded that the time an individual spends in cars, on public transportation, on motorcycles or bicycles was consistently linked with an increase in the risk of heart attack."
So...anyone for a shorter commute?
