I just went to Google and was surprised to see they have changed things up a little bit. The famous tabs (which everyone under the sun has copied over the years, most notably Yahoo!'s new homepage) are gone. In their place are simple text links. Froogle, Google's comparison shopping engine is given new prominence (like Yahoo! Shopping). Early indications suggest traffic is up. Also given more prominence are several Google Labs features touted under What's New.
It's long been rumored that Google might make a move into e-mail; now it is official. The search giant is expected to launch its new "gmail" service today with 1,000 invited guests. The hook? 1 gigabyte of free storage space, which definitely trumps MSN Hotmail's puny 2 Mb and Yahoo! Mail's 4 Mb. Should be interesting...
A quick test of the domain gmail.com yields the old-format Google Directory page. Hmm...
